Goal

Turn your working-but-generic site into one that looks designed, using one or two good fonts, a restrained colour palette, a consistent spacing scale and real images, and lock those choices into your project rules.

Why this matters

A business owner decides whether to trust a website in a few seconds, long before they read a word. If your own site looks like a template, they'll assume your work for them will too.

Here's the problem: AI-built websites tend to look the same. The AI has learned from millions of websites, so when you don't tell it otherwise, it gives you the average of all of them. You've probably seen the look already: a purple-to-blue gradient, the same font as every app, three identical cards with emoji icons, and a headline about "elevating your digital presence".

"Expensive" doesn't mean fancy. It means deliberate: every font, colour and gap was chosen, not left to the default. The good news is that you don't need to be a trained designer to get there. You need five decisions and the discipline to stick to them. That's this lesson.
