Your Resend account and API key
Create a Resend account, make an API key that can only send email, store it safely in your password manager, .env.local and Vercel, and prove it works by sending yourself a first email.
Why this matters
This lesson is short on code and long on habits. You'll handle a real secret key: one that can send email in your name. How you handle it today is how you'll handle your clients' keys for years.
In Lesson 1.7 you learned the golden rule: secrets never go into AI chats, screenshots or code. In Module 6 you learned where they do go: .env.local on your laptop and Vercel's Environment Variables online. Today you put that into practice with a key that matters. By the end you'll have sent your first email from code, and you'll know it came from your key, sitting safely where it belongs.
