Deposit, agreement and getting paid
Turn a "yes" into a booked, paid project: agree the work in plain language, take a 60% deposit before you start, keep clean payment records, and collect everything you need from the client in one go.
Why this matters
Your client has read the proposal and chosen a package. This is where most painful freelance stories start: no deposit, so the client disappears halfway through; no written scope, so "one small change" becomes thirty; no deadline for their photos, so the project drags on for months.
Three things prevent almost all of that: an agreement (how you'll work together), an invoice for the deposit, and a website information form with a date. Once your templates exist, they take about ten minutes per client.
