Goal

Create a Supabase account and a project for Adjoa's Kitchen in the right region, keep its database password safely in your password manager, and connect the official Supabase MCP server to Cursor, limited to this one project and in read-only mode.

Why this matters

This is the last piece of setup before the real building starts. You'll create the order book (a Supabase project) and give Cursor its gloves (the MCP connection).

Two choices in this lesson can't easily be changed later, so they get extra care: where in the world your database lives, and the database password. You'll make both carefully now, the way you would for a paying client.

You'll also set up the MCP in its safest form: it can see only Adjoa's project, and only read, not change. Then you'll try to make a change on purpose, watch it fail, and know for certain that read-only means read-only. In the next lesson you'll switch writing on, for just as long as you need it.
