DNS in plain English
Understand what happens between someone typing your domain and your site appearing: who owns the domain, who runs its DNS, what A, CNAME, TXT and MX records do, and why changes take time to spread.
Why this matters
In this module you'll change settings that decide whether your website and your emails can be found at all. The AI will make most of the changes for you, through MCP. But you have to approve each one, and you can't approve what you don't understand.
DNS is also the part of web work that scares beginners most, because it's invisible. You change a setting, nothing happens for ten minutes, then it works for you but not for your friend. Without the picture in this lesson, that feels like magic going wrong. With it, it's just the post office catching up.
And DNS is something clients will ask you about. "Why isn't my site working on my phone yet?" "Why do my emails go to spam?" "Can you move my domain?" After this lesson you'll have the answers, in plain English, and you'll look like the professional you're becoming.
If this feels like a lot of new words, that's normal. You'll meet each one in a picture first, and you'll use every one of them for real in the next four lessons.
