SEO basics in Next.js
Give every page of your business site a clear title and description written for people and Google, add a share image that shows when your link is sent on WhatsApp or social media, and publish a sitemap.xml and robots.txt so Google can find every page.
Why this matters
SEO (search engine optimisation) means helping search engines understand your pages, so they show them to the right people. It has a reputation for being mysterious, full of tricks and gurus. Ignore that. For a small business site, SEO is mostly doing a few simple things properly, and then being patient.
This lesson does the "properly" part: the things Google reads first on every page. They're also the things people see before they ever visit you: the blue headline and grey text in Google's results, and the preview card when someone shares your link on WhatsApp. A link with a clear title, a real description and a strong image gets tapped. A link that says "Create Next App" doesn't.
You'll do it on your own site now, and in Lesson 12.9 it goes on the launch checklist for every client.
