Find a business and build its demo
Find ten real local businesses that would benefit from a website, choose the best fit, and turn a copy of your Project 2 template into a private, clearly labelled demo site for them in two to three hours, without using their photos or logo.
Why this matters
Most web design pitches sound the same: "Hi, I build websites, are you interested?" The business owner has heard it before, can't picture what you mean, and says "maybe later".
The demo-first pitch is different. Before you ask for anything, you build a sample of their website: their name, their kind of menu or services, their opening hours, their colours, on a working site they can open on their phone. Now the conversation isn't "do you want a website?" It's "do you want this website?" That's a much easier yes. It also shows, better than any words, that you can actually do the work.
You can do this quickly because of Module 11. Your Project 2 site is a template: a complete, working business site, with a CUSTOMISE.md that tells you how to re-skin it for a new business in about an hour (Lesson 11.10). The same build you'd normally charge for becomes a sample in a couple of hours.
There's one thing to get right from the start: respect. You're using a real business's name without being asked. That's fine for a private sample shown only to them, and only if you never present it as their official site, never use their photos or logo, and never post it publicly without their written yes.
