GitHub, with two-factor login
Create a GitHub account with a professional profile, protect it with two-factor authentication, and understand what GitHub will do for you in this course.
Why this matters
GitHub is where your code will live. Every website you build in this course gets saved there, every version of it, forever. Vercel reads your code from GitHub to put your site online. And when you start getting clients, your GitHub profile becomes part of your portfolio: proof that you build real things.
Because so much depends on it, GitHub takes security seriously. GitHub requires people who contribute code to turn on two-factor authentication, and even if you're never asked, you'll turn it on today. A hacked GitHub account could mean someone deleting your work, or changing a client's live website.
This lesson also introduces three words you'll use every week from Module 2 onward: repository, commit and push. You won't use them today, but you'll know what they mean when you meet them.
