Goal

Install Cursor, sign in, create your web-projects folder, and find the four parts of Cursor you'll use every day: the file tree, the editor, the Agent panel and the terminal.

Why this matters

Cursor is where your websites get built. You'll spend more time in it than in any other tool in this course. It's a code editor (a program for writing and organising code files) with an AI built in. You describe what you want in plain English, and Cursor's AI, called the Agent, creates and edits the files for you.

A new code editor can look like an aeroplane cockpit: buttons, panels and menus everywhere. The good news is that you need only four parts of it, and this lesson shows you exactly where each one is. Everything else can wait.

You'll also create the folder that holds every project in this course. In Module 2 you'll make a practice folder inside it, and in Module 3 your business website will live there too. One folder, everything in one place, always where you expect it.
