A password manager, and where your keys live
Put every password and recovery code from this module into a password manager, and learn the rule that keeps your accounts, your clients and your money safe: secrets never go into AI chats, screenshots or code.
Why this matters
In this module you've created several accounts, two sets of recovery codes and at least three strong passwords. In Stages 2 and 3 you'll also have API keys for your database, your email service and your domain provider, and soon after that, the same for each client. Nobody can keep all of that in their head, and the usual alternatives are dangerous: the same password everywhere, a note on the phone called "passwords", or a photo of a sticky note.
A password manager solves this. It's a locked vault that remembers everything for you, fills in passwords when you sign in, and makes new strong ones at the click of a button. You remember one strong password, and the vault remembers the rest.
This lesson matters for your future clients too. A business that hires you is trusting you with their website, their customers' details and sometimes their payment settings. Developers who handle secrets carelessly lose clients, or worse. The habits you set today are the ones they'll be trusting.
